THE JUNK POD
Junkyard is transforming retired, gas powered, city buses into spaces for working, Austin-based musicians.
Why not provide old public resources into new resources for Austin musicians?

The Junkpod is a free space for recording and rehearsing for HAAM (the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) registered Austin musicians. Let’s get 15 out into the Austin wild!
The Junkpod will act as an actual rehearsal, small scale recording space for 4 hour blocks. Kind of like a car share, but for Austin musicians registered with HAAM.
A Junkpod COULD be a great place to live. Think about a glorified Airstream that lives adjacent to affordable housing. Why not? Or could it be a series of ‘tiny homes’ living on the grounds of a local venue supporting the operations of that venue with valuable affordable rental?
What can a Junkpod do for your company before it finds it’s permanent home as a rehearsal space? It can easily activate a parking lot, a park, or act as its own event immediately. A Junkpod is a great activation tool for your business if you would like to support!
How about a series of Junkpods, creating pocket venues in our parks and public spaces? We need small stages, places for families and community to gather and hear new songwriters.
